Saijai Liangpunsakul
Social Impact Director Myanmar Innovation Lab
Saijai Liangpunsakul is a citizen of the world having lived in both Costa Rica and Egypt as a youngster. She has since worked in 15 countries, given TEDx talks, spoken at the Goethe Institut and even led a digital rights movement. She currently works at Phandeeyar, an innovation lab spearheading the use of technology to accelerate change and development in Myanmar. There she witnessed the impact the digital revolution has had on the country and it has inspired her even further to champion digital literacy, responsible technology usage and to tackle misinformation issues. As a young woman in the technology and policy sector Saijai has been criticised and discriminated against, but she has stood strong and persevered. The proof can be seen at Phandeeyar, where she has brought in women to take on managerial positions and built a diverse and inclusive team comprising ethnic and religious minorities.
